Campaign begins with four day, four county “Jobs, Schools and Great Outdoors” tour
Dan Scripps, Democratic candidate for 101st District, will launch his campaign next week with four days of events focusing on “Jobs, Schools and the Great Outdoors.” The campaign kickoff tour will tour Mason, Manistee, Benzie and Leelanau counties and give Scripps the opportunity to meet with leading business owners, school groups, top conservation officials, and small family farmers.
Included in the Dan Scripps for State Representative campaign’s "Jobs, Schools and Great Outdoors" kickoff tour are visits to high schools and early childhood centers, downtown business district events, meetings with leaders in the local conservation community, and a number of media events.
“By highlighting jobs, schools and the great outdoors, we will be focusing on the issues that matter the most to people in the 101st district. In these difficult economic times, it is important to highlight the comparative advantages that make Northwest Michigan so special and can help us turn our state around,” says Scripps. “This will be the beginning of an exciting fight towards November 4th.”
The 101st District includes Mason, Manistee, Benzie and Leelanau counties, and promises to be one of the most closely contested contests in the state. The Inside Michigan Politics Newsletter lists it as a "Toss Up" and it is also one of the "Top Ten State House Seats to Watch," according to the Michigan Information and Research Service.
